SWIM COACHES AND TEACHERS OF NEW ZEALAND inc

OUR VISION

NZSCAT is committed to the growth and prosperity of aquatic activities: swimming as an essential life skill; components of health and fitness; and competitive sport. We seek to improve professional standards through education, accreditation, professional development and ethical practice.

MISSION

The organisation is dedicated to developing world leading practice in education; accreditation, professional development and ongoing support for New Zealand Swim Coaches and Teachers.
 


OBJECTIVES - Long term core business objectives of NZSCAT are:

  • To be recognised as the leading and influential best practice providers in the aquatic industry of our core business
  • To provide quality education and training opportunities for members and partner organisations
  • To ensure effective communication with members, partners, sponsors, the media and community
  • To support members through developing sustainable funding, networks and initiatives to ensure a public voice
  • To be proactive in establishing partnerships and collaborative practice

Strategic Plan & Constitution

Details can be viewed within the Strategic Plan 2006-2010. This plan was composed by members of the SCATNZ Board and is in the earlier stages of consultation. It is viewed as a living document requiring adjustments to align with the changing needs of the membership and the aquatic industry.

Learning to swim

There are various services offered to NZSCAT members ranging from formal to informal, frequent to infrequent and local to national. These are just the start:

  • Professional development for members via Regional Workshops and Annual Seminars
  • Resource development for Performance; Appraisal; and Remuneration Packs
  • Merchandise
  • Reduced rates for a selection of educational resources and products specific to the aquatic field
  • Industry support, employment and development via Promotion of employment vacancies; Representatives on Advisory Panels; Advocacy; Establishing partnerships and Memorandum of Understandings
