Recognition for Members at 2010 NZSCAT Awards Dinner

Two very special members were honoured at the 2010 NZSCAT Awards Dinner:

Clive Wheeler was made a life member of the association. Clive has been connected with swimming in NZ for the past 42 years. Clive has continually produced swimmers of national class year in and year out. He was the driving force behind getting a covered pool for his region. Clive has not only been involved in coaching and learn to swim but in administration at the regional level having served as both secretary and president of Swimming Taranaki. Clive has been a coach on various NZ teams and at NZ camps.

Judith Wright has been a member of NZSCAT for many years. Judith served on the board of the association and was a strong advocate for getting the "T" put into the association's name. Judith took a major part in setting the standards for the original teacher qualifications. She built her own facility at Waterhole Swimming Centre. Judith placed Megan Luff on the 1990 Commonwealth Games team and Alannah Jury to the World Open Water Championships in 2009. Judith was presented with an award for services to Swim Coaching and Teaching in New Zealand.
